When your home is disorganized, it would be an eyesore to look at. It's quite uncomfortable to stay in a place where everything is messy and scattered.
Think about it, books should be stored in the bookshelf, kitchen items in the kitchen, and CDs in the CD rack. Regardless of what item it may be, it always has its proper place.
Doing this would help keep your things in good working condition. One such example of items that need to be stored properly is your clothing and apparel. Here are a couple of ways for you to keep them in good shape for years and years to come.
Store shoes in boxes. Usually, we find it tiring and a downright hassle to put our shoes back in their boxes after using them. But as a matter of fact, putting your shoes back in their boxes would actually protect it from damage. And since it would not get crowded or mixed up with other pairs, it would also help retain its shape.
Have someone else wash your gowns and dresses. Most gowns are made from delicate materials so it would be best if you let an expert handle it. Majority of the gowns are being dry cleaned instead of being washed the conventional way.
If you don't like creases on your favourite jeans, then you should hang them instead of folding them. Jeans are usually folded and then placed inside the cabinet. This practice has been done for years, but then people have different tastes. Hanging them, however, would provide you with a crease-free pair of jeans.
Make sure to store your bras properly. Do not just dump your brassieres into the drawer because this can result to deformed bra cups and deformed cups don't look good worn under a tight or body fitting shirt.
Don't fold your dresses. You should hang them to keep it from getting creased or folded. Make sure to use a hanger when putting them in your cabinet.
Make sure to arrange your clothes before you put them in your closet. You can arrange them according to type, color or purpose or whatever suits your fancy. Whichever way you arrange it is fine as long as it is organized inside your closet. You don't want your clothes to end up wrinkled now, don't you?
If you want your clothes to last as long as they could, you should be doing this. So get moving, and make sure your clothes are stored properly.
